SXUK : PG Admission Announcements

  • No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than three years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.
  • Every applicant must fulfil the eligibility criteria as laid down for each course.
  • The Graduation degree course has to be UGC recognised.
  • If the final degree result is not published at the time of application, % of marks for eligibility will be calculated on the basis of the aggregate of 1st to 4th Semester or Part I and Part II or year 1 and year 2 (as applicable) and the candidate is required to pass in all papers.
  • If, at the time of admission, final degree mark sheet cannot be shown, the admission will be provisional and the student must produce the final degree mark sheet latest by 5th October, 2021; failing which, the admission is liable to be cancelled.
  • If a student, who is admitted provisionally, fails to fulfil the eligibility regarding the required aggregate marks in graduation (45% for General and 40% for reserved category), admission of the student will be cancelled.
  • The University reserves the right to reject the candidature and/or cancel the application / admission at any stage, if an applicant fails to fulfil the above conditions.
  • Admission will be based on admission test marks.
     

Under Graduate students of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata will not be required to pay any admission fee for Post Graduate degree courses.

 

M.COM.

Eligibility Criteria for Application: Compulsory Courses in UG B.Com., B.B.A. or B.M.S. (Bachelor in Management Studies)
Aggregate Marks required for Application* 45% for General and 40% for Reserved Category.

M.A. (MASS COMMUNICATION)

Eligibility Criteria for Application: Compulsory Courses in UG Graduate in any discipline
Aggregate Marks required for Application* 45% for General and 40% for Reserved Category.
(Percentage will be calculated on the basis of all the papers)
Selection: On the basis of Admission Test Marks

 

M.A. (ENGLISH)

Eligibility Criteria for Application: Compulsory Courses in UG Graduate with English as honours/Major
Aggregate Marks required for Application* 45% for General and 40% for Reserved Category.

MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK (MSW)

M.A. (ECONOMICS)

Eligibility Criteria for Application: Compulsory Courses in UG B.A./B.Sc. honours / Major In Economics
Aggregate Marks required for Application* 45% for General and 40% for Reserved Category.
(Percentage will be calculated on the basis of honours/Major papers/Course)
Selection: On the basis of Admission Test Marks

 

M.A. (Psychology with specialisation in Clinical Psychology/Organisational Behaviour)

Eligibility Criteria for Application: Compulsory Courses in UG Graduate with Honours/Major in any discipline
Aggregate Marks required for Application* 45% for General and 40% for Reserved Category.
(Percentage will be calculated on the basis of honours/Major papers/Course)
Selection: On the basis of Admission Test Marks

 

* If the final degree result is not published at the time of application, % of marks for eligibility will be calculated on the basis of the aggregate of 1st to 4th Semester or Part I and Part II or year 1 and year 2 (as applicable) and the candidate is required to pass in all papers.

Only Internet Based Test (IBT) will be conducted.

Minimum System Requirements for Internet Based Admission Test

Windows 7 or above, 2 GB RAM or above, Core 2 Duo or above, 64-bit, 20 GB Free HDD Space in C drive, Single plug and play color Web Camera with proper driver installed and working. In case of laptop, inbuilt web camera should be activated. Stable Internet connection will be required.

Scholarship

St. Xavier's University offers scholarships to the deserving students who are economically weak.
Two types of scholarship are offered to the undergraduate and Post graduate students:

  1. 100% fee waiver and
  2. 50% fee waiver.

Special scholarships are available for M. Com and MSW students.
