Eligibility for appearing in End Semester Examinations
- The students of Undergraduate (UG) degree courses (except Law courses) must maintain 75% aggregate attendance in a semester to be eligible to appear in the End Semester Examination.
- The students of Undergraduate (UG) Law (B.A. LL.B. and B.Com. LL.B.) courses must maintain 75% aggregate attendance and a minimum attendance of 65% in each paper/subject in a semester to be eligible for appearing in the End Semester Examination.
- The students of Postgraduate (PG) degree courses (including MBA Executive) must maintain 75% aggregate attendance in a semester to be eligible for appearance in the End Semester Examination.
- The students of MBA Programme must maintain 85% aggregate attendance in a semester to be eligible to appear in the End Semester Examination.
- Detailed requirements are given in Regulations for Students' Attendance Requirement and the Attendance Management Procedures 2024 in the 'Prospectus & Calendar'.
- If a student does not fulfil the attendance requirement in that case, he/she will be debarred from appearing for the End Semester Examinations.
- A student must pay the semester fees (including the examination fee, if applicable) as notified from time to time.
- The students will be required to submit the examination form and pay the fees for the arrear papers (if any).
- A student who has any disciplinary charge against his/her name may not be permitted to appear for the Semester Examination.
- Only those students who fulfil eligibility criteria will be issued Online Admit Cards for the End Semester Examinations, and such students can download their Admit Cards from the University website (www.sxuk.edu.in) through the student's login portal.
Admit Card
- The Admit Card is issued to all the eligible students admitted to the University for end semester examination. Any student found ineligible due to valid reasons shall not be issued the Admit Card.
- Only those students who fulfil eligibility criteria will be issued Online Admit Cards for the End Semester Examinations, and such students can download their Admit Cards from the University website (www.sxuk.edu.in) through the student's login portal.
- Admit Card shall contain information regarding the Name of the Student, Registration Number, CIN, Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID, Photograph, Programme of study, Semester/Year, Department and the Theory and Practical (if any) Code numbers of the Subject(s) in which he/she is eligible to appear for the current examination.
- In general, the Admit Card will be generated through the University's ERP Software and uploaded to the University website ordinarily 3 days before the commencement of the examinations. The students can download his/her Admit card from the University website (www.sxuk.edu.in) through the student's login portal.
- If any discrepancy or error is found in the Admit Card, it should be communicated to the examination section before commencement of the End Semester Examination, with the recommendation of the Dean of the respective Faculty/School.
Guidelines to be followed during Examinations
- In the Examination Hall, the student shall be under the disciplinary control of the invigilator, and he/she shall obey the instructions of the invigilator.
- No student shall use unfair means or indulge in disorderly conduct or malpractice during, or in connection with, the examinations.
- Entry into the Examination Hall will be allowed only on production of the Admit Card along with the Student's ID Card.
- The students are instructed to report to the Examination Hall 15 minutes before the scheduled start of examinations.
- No entry will be allowed 15 minutes after the commencement of the examination without the written permission of the Controller of Examinations. However, such permission may only be granted within the first 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination.
- No student will be permitted to submit the answer script before the completion of the first hour of the examination.
- Temporary exit will not be permitted for the first hour after the commencement of the examination.
- No student will be allowed to keep a mobile phone or any other electronic device (except a calculator, if permitted) in his/her possession during the time of examination.
- Instructions on the Admit Card/Answer script and other related examination rules are to be strictly followed.
- The student must write the Question Number (Q. No.) they are answering; otherwise, the answer may be cancelled.
- All rough work must be done in the answer script and cross it through. No loose sheet shall be provided for scribbling, and no paper is to be brought in for this purpose. Any student found with loose Paper or engaged in copying will be subject to Disciplinary Action under the relevant rules.
- If the student uses any additional supplementary sheet(s), graph papers etc., these are to be tied up firmly with the answer script. The student is not to write answers on the loose sheets until he/she has used all the pages in the answer script.
- The students have to write their Roll No. and Registration No. in the space provided for the purpose and nowhere else. Disclosing his/her identity in any other manner is not permitted. The student is not to write his/her name in any part of the answer script, supplementary sheet(s), graph paper(s) (if any), etc. His/her answer script will be cancelled for violation of any of the instructions.

- The rules for conducting examinations may be different if the examinations are held online or in blended mode. Rules for such examination/s will be communicated separately.
- All the rules mentioned herein are illustrative and not exhaustive. Appropriate disciplinary action may be recommended in case of violation of the rules of the examinations by the competent authority on a case-by-case basis.
Breach of Discipline during Examinations
Misconduct
A student engaging in any of the following acts in the examination hall will be considered misconduct and will be booked accordingly:
- Student blatantly disobeying the instructions of the OIC/ACOE/Invigilator or any other university-appointed officials on examination duty.
- Student exhibiting insolent/violent behaviour with the Invigilator or other examination staff or other examinees. Unruly behaviour in or near the examination hall.
- Acts of threats, violence, creating disturbance inside/outside the examination hall, preventing other students from entering the hall, misbehaviour with the invigilating staff member, etc.
- Bringing dangerous weapons/articles into the examination hall on any pretext.
- Any acts by students that hinder the discharge of duty by staff on examination duty or the smooth conduct of the examination.
- Tearing off or mutilating an answer script or any part thereof.
- Talking with neighbours, showing signs or signals to others in the hall/corridor/washroom, etc.
- Writing the examination even after the final bell, despite several calls to stop writing.
- Causing damage to the belongings of Examiners as an act of vengeance.
- Arranging outside persons to terrorise the examination staff.
- Causing damage to examination material/records.
- Assaulting physically or attempting to attack any examination staff or other examinee while being caught/booked for any malpractice.
- Writing filthy/indecent/vulgar words or sketching obscene figures, etc., in the answer script, blackboard or walls or furniture at the examination centre.
- Tampering with the particulars, including registration number, written on another student's answer script and/or writing wrong details, including registration number, on one's own answer script.
- Refusing to be searched by the OIC/Invigilator/ACOE or any other member of the invigilation staff, or obstructing or hindering such a search in the examination hall, corridor, etc.
- Any other similar act(s) of commission and/ or omission(s) which may be considered as Misconduct by the competent authority.
Malpractices
A student indulging in any of the following acts in the examination hall will be considered as committing malpractice(s) in the examination and booked for the same:
- Possession of printed/photocopy/manuscripts pertaining/not pertaining to the day's examination, or in the form of a book, pages of a book or loose sheets, or any other matter not permissible to be brought into the examination hall.
- Possession of Tables, Handbooks, Code books, etc., which are not permitted for the day's examination.
- Possession of Programmable Calculators, Mobile Phones, Smart watches, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled devices, Pagers, Organisers, Digital memory pads, etc., with/without matters related to the day's examination stored in them.
- Possessing any other prohibited material that may be of help in writing answers or facilitate copying in the examination hall.
- Writing any matter, formula, definitions, sketches in any part of the student's body, dress, handkerchief, instrument box, calculator cover, wall, table, drawing board, Question paper, admit card, etc., which may have relevance to the syllabus of the examination paper concerned.
- Exchanging of admit cards, question papers, scales, calculator, instrument box, etc., with any formula, answers, sketches, and hints related to the day's examination written on them with neighbouring students.
- Showing the answer script/question paper to the neighbours or allowing them to copy.
- Giving/Receiving the main answer-script or other information-carrying material to or from a neighbour for copying.
- Copying from any printed or handwritten material or the answer script of another student.
- Writing any appeal to the Examiner offering money or any irrelevant matters in the answer script, insertion of currency notes in the answer script and giving contact address, telephone numbers, etc.
- Communicating or attempting to communicate, directly or through another person, with an examiner or with an official of the University with the object of influencing him in the award of marks or making any approach or manipulation for that purpose.
- Communicating or attempting to communicate with the staff of the University or any person connected with the conduct of examination or with any paper setter, with the object of finding out the name and address of the paper setter or finding out the questions.
- Making any request or representation, or offering any threat or inducement to Invigilators/OIC or any other official or officer of the University in the Examination Hall or to the Examiner in the answer script.
- Approaching the teachers, officers of the University or examiners directly or indirectly in order to bring about undue pressure or undue influence upon them for favour in the examination, or evaluation.
- Disclosing identity anywhere in the answer script other than in the designated place(s).
- Revealing identity in any form in the answer written or in any other part of the answer script by the examinee at the University examination.
- Writing the examination without a valid Admit Card or obtaining admission to the examination on a false representation.
- Striking off all the pages, including the correct answers written by him/her in the answer script, when caught for any act of malpractice.
- Inserting pre-written supplementary sheet(s), etc., having matters related to the subject of the day's examination into the main answer script.
- Smuggling in a blank or written answer script and forging the signature of the invigilator thereon.
- Replacing the answer script supplied in the hall with a pre-prepared answer script brought by the student himself/herself or obtained from external sources.
- Presenting to the examiner a practical or class-work notebook which does not belong to him/her.
- Forging the signature of the teacher anywhere in the Practical Record book.
- Preparing a practical or class-work-notebook, project, term paper, Dissertation, etc., using plagiarism or by utilising any AI-based Tools like ChatGPT, etc.
- Altering the marks awarded for any exercises in the Practical Record book or boosting the total and average marks obtained in the Record book of Laboratory work.
- Helping another student in answering any question orally or by transmission of material or information.
- Giving or receiving assistance in answering the question papers to or from any other student/ person in the examination hall or outside during the examination hours.
- Unauthorised communications in any form with other examinees or anyone else inside or outside the examination hall.
- Impersonation - Arranging for some other person to write the examination for the student or attempting to write the examination for somebody else.
- Taking away with him/her the Answer script, without handing over the same to the invigilator or trying to take away or damage another student's answer script.
- Refusing to acknowledge any wrongdoing, fleeing the examination hall upon being caught for malpractice, and attempting to destroy evidence by tearing/swallowing/erasing/throwing away materials.
- Destroying or attempting to destroy a note or Paper or any other material or causing the disappearance or destruction of any such material either by himself or with the assistance of any other person, etc., during the examination hours.
- Interfering with or counterfeiting the university seal, or answer scripts or office stationery used in the examinations.
- Committing any act(s) intending to gain an advantage or favour in the examination by misleading, deceiving or inducing the examiner or officers or authorities of the University.
- Forging another person's signature on any of the examination documents.
- Invigilators, OIC, ACOE, examiners, and higher authorities are permitted to arrange for inspection of the belongings of the students, or frisking of one or more students, in case of suspicion.
- Using or attempting to use any other similar undesirable method or means in connection with the examination or any other act, not listed above but amounting to obtaining unfair advantage, will also be a malpractice means, and the class of offence will be decided by the competent authority.
Guidelines regarding penalties for Breach of Discipline

Policy relating to providing Scribe for physically challenged/physically disabled students during Examinations
- The University will follow the “Guidelines for conducting Written Examination for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities” issued on 29.08.2018, along with the subsequent Corrigendum dated 08.02.2019 by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India.

Reviewing of Answer Script
- Immediately after the publication of results, the students will be duly notified both through the student portal of the University website (www.sxuk.edu.in), as well as through the University notice board, about how to apply for ‘Review of Answer Scripts’.
- The review is conducted by one of the course instructors who is not the First Examiner.
- Review is offered for both Regular and Arrear Papers. No Review is offered for Supplementary Examination Papers, nor for Practical Papers, Project Papers, Assignments and Field Work.
- The students have to apply online to the Controller of Examinations for Review of his/her Answer Script(s) of an Examination ordinarily within Seven (07) days from the date of publication of the Result. They will be required to pay the fee, as notified by COE.
- Such application for Review (UG and PG) shall be restricted to a maximum of half the number of theoretical papers of that Semester only.
- The Review (R1) marks will stand irrespective of whether the marks are more or less than the original marks.
- A Paper will be sent for a Second Review (R2) if the marks after the First Review (R1) are decreased or increased by more than 10% from the original marks given by the First Evaluator. Such ‘Additional Review’, if necessary, will be automatically processed by the COE Office, i.e. students need not apply for the same.
- The Academic Transcript and Provisional Degree Certificates will be issued to final-semester students after the completion of the review process.
- Uploading of Mark Sheets, Academic Transcripts and Degree Certificates (for final semester students) in UGC NAD (National Academic Depository).
Seeing the Answer Script
- A student appearing at any End Semester Theory Examination may be eligible for Seeing of Answer Script (SAS).
- The students will be duly notified both on the student portal of the University website (www.sxuk.edu.in) as well as the University notice board about how to apply for SAS.
- To apply for SAS, a student does not need to have previously applied for Review. The primary purpose of allowing a student to see his/her Answer Script is to enable him/her to obtain feedback on his/her performance.
- The student will be duly notified regarding the date and time of SAS by the COE Office. The Dean/HOD/Subject Teacher will be present at the time of SAS.
- The students have to apply online, ordinarily within Seven (07) working days from the date of publication of the Review Results. They will be required to pay the fee, as notified by COE.
- No Review will be allowed after SAS, and there is no scope for alteration of marks at this stage.
