St. Xavier's University's first Annual Sports Day was celebrated on Saturday, February 2 with total participation and great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Sujit Bose, the Hon'ble Minister for Fire and Emergency Services, Government of West Bengal.

The Class-wise Parade by students was colourful and thematic. The playground was overflowing with team spirit, zeal and excitement. The presence and the active participation of teachers boosted the spirit of students.

The Chief Guest thanked the authorities of the University for their academic endeavours and encouragements of sports activities. Fr. Vice-Chancellor thanked Mr. Sandip Mundhara, Mr. GP Gupta, Mr. Mario Louis and their team members of staff and students for their efficient coordination of the Sports Day.

Being the first Sports Day of the University, it is a red-letter day in the history of the SXUK. Nihil Ultra !

Students of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, along with their faculty, staff, Alumni/ae and well-wishers, took out a walkathon on February 2 morning for One India on the occasion of their annual Sports Day. There were around 1000 walkathoners with banners and placards. Hon'ble Mayor of Bidhannagar, Shri Sabyasachi Dutta flagged off the walkathon in the presence of Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Fr. Felix Raj.
