The Department of Mass Communication organized a Photography Exhibition on 6th September 2018. The exhibition was arranged by the post-graduate students. Dignitaries including our Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Dr. J. Felix Raj, Registrar. Prof. Ashis Mitra, Dean of Arts and Social Studies, Rev. Dr. Soosai Nayagam and respected faculty members from other departments were present.

On the 5th of September 2018, a year after the Inauguration, a lively Teachers' Day programme was organized for the Teachers and support staffs of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. The programme began with a prayer song sung by Shristi Mukherjee of B.COM, followed by a short speech on the role of teachers in shaping the young minds by Sarina Pradhan.

The 72nd Independence of India was celebrated at the SXUK at 9.30 am. The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor hoisted the National Flag. Swami Agnivesh, a former professor of St. Xavier's College was the Chief-Guest. He spoke about the lesson he learnt from the Jesuit Priests while at SXC and about his mission for the poor and the bonded labourers. A large number of faculty, staff, students, security and house-keeping officers participated in the ceremony. Thank to our staff and students for their efficient coordination of the ceremony.

The Department of Sports of St. Xavier's University, Kolkata proudly presented 'Xavogames-2018' on 3 April, 2018.
It was a pleasure for us to have in our midst the Chief Guest, Mr. Pradip Dutta who represented the Indian Football Team during the year 1972 and was Technical Director of India Under 21 in the Rajiv Gandhi International Football Tournament in the year 1987. Presently, he is the member of the Technical Committee of All India Football Federation.
