St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) bagged the “Most Usage in East India 2024-25” award from the Knimbus Online Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. This honour is based on the number of views, searches, downloads, and overall accesses of the subscribed electronic resources within the SXUK Digital Library with Knimbus platform.

Dr. Stephen G., Assistant Librarian of SXUK, received the award on behalf of Rev. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ, Vice-Chancellor of SXUK on August 26, 2025 from Mr. Sharansh Gond, Regional Manager of Knimbus. The award was subsequently handed over to Father Felix Raj.

The university extends its heartfelt thanks to all users, with special appreciation to the faculty members, research scholars, and students, whose consistent engagement has made this achievement possible.

Fr. Arrupe Central Library of St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organized the Xaverian Academic Bookfest - 2022 on May 12 & 13, 2022. The first ever book fest inside the University was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Rev. Fr. Dr. John Felix Raj, SJ.

In this fest, 12 renowned book distributors and publishers displayed around 3,950 titles of text books and reference books on different subjects. Faculty members, research scholars, support staff and students visited the book stalls. The faculty members and research scholars also suggested1196 book titlesfrom this exhibition to enrich the university library collections. Visitors also bought books worth Rs. 37300.

The programme was concluded with the vote of thanksdelivered by Rev. Fr. Dr. A. Arockiasamy SJ, Honorary Director, Library in appreciating the gesture of publishers, distributors and visitors.
