Faculty Profile

Dr Abhisek Saha Roy is an Assistant Professor in Management (Finance) under Xavier Business School in St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, West Bengal. He holds a PhD from The University of Burdwan, with 10 years of teaching experience across premier institutions, including Sikkim Manipal University, Calcutta Business School, and Ajmal Foundation. His teaching expertise spans the area of Accounting & Finance with strong skills in ICT-enabled and hybrid learning. Dr Roy obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Burdwan, West Bengal, India. Besides, he has PGD ESG from the Centre for Environmental Health and Safety (CEHS) under the Institute of Good Manufacturing Practices India (An Autonomous Body Recognised by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India). He has cleared the UGC-SLET NE Region in Commerce conducted by UGC. His research interests lie in capital markets, corporate governance, corporate finance, and sustainable banking practices. Dr Roy is a Life Member of the Indian Commerce Association and Indian Economic Association, and an Associate Member of the International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan. He has published extensively in Scopus, ABDC-indexed journals, UGC-Care listed and other peer-reviewed journals on topics including stock market synchronicity, liquidity, idiosyncratic risk, and corporate governance, among others. He has guided multiple MBA dissertations and currently externally co-supervises PhD scholars registered in Sikkim Manipal University
