Ms. Debatri Banerjee is an academic and researcher with expertise in Environmental Science, Oceanography, and Botany. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Botany followed by a Master’s degree in Botany, strengthening her foundation in plant sciences and environmental studies. She further pursued doctoral research in Oceanography, reflecting her interdisciplinary academic interest in environmental systems and ecological processes.
She has been associated with St. Xavier’s University for several years as a contractual faculty member in Environmental Education. Through her teaching and academic engagement, she has contributed to developing environmental awareness and scientific understanding among students. Her experience includes curriculum delivery, student mentoring, and participation in academic activities that promote sustainability and environmental literacy.Her research interests broadly include environmental management, ecological processes,sustainable development, palynology, ethmobotany and taxonomy. She is also interested in integrating scientific research with practical environmental applications and advancing interdisciplinary studies.
