Dr. Avik Banerjee is a legal scholar and educator specializing in Business and Corporate Law. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Law under the Faculty of Commerce and Management at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, bringing nearly a decade of blended experience in legal academia and professional practice to his role.
Dr. Banerjee completed his five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. at the University of Calcutta's Department of Law (Hazra Campus). Following his graduation, he enrolled as an Advocate under the Bar Council of West Bengal and successfully cleared the All India Bar Examination (AIBE). He went on to earn an LL.M. in Business Law from Amity Law School, Amity University, Kolkata, where he was awarded the Silver Medal for academic excellence alongside the prestigious 'Shree Baljit Shastri Award' for exemplary human and traditional values. He also qualified SET (West Bengal) for Assistant Professor eligibility.
Dr. Banerjee holds a Ph.D. in Law from Raiganj University (a State Govt. University in West Bengal), where his doctoral research focused on a "Socio-Legal Study on Cyber-Bullying and its Impact on Teenagers in West Bengal: Efficacy of the Existing Legal Framework." Beyond his core academic degrees, he is a certified CSR Trainer from the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA). As an active researcher, he regularly participates in Faculty Development Programmes, workshops, seminars and conferences and his scholarly work has been published across various peer-reviewed and SCOPUS-indexed journals.
