Biographical Sketch

Dr. Indrani Mukherjee is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics under the Faculty of Science at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata since January 2026. She obtained her Ph.D. in Statistics from Visva-Bharati University, specializing in reliability models and statistical inference, and was supported by the prestigious DST INSPIRE Fellowship during 2015–2020.

Prior to her current position, she was associated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Visva-Bharati University, and Sister Nivedita University in various teaching capacities. Her research contributions span statistical distribution theory, reliability analysis, and applied statistical modeling, with publications in several reputed national and international journals.

Dr. Mukherjee has actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and faculty development programmes. She has also contributed significantly to academic administration through roles such as Head of the Department, member of the Board of Studies, and programme coordinator. A life member of the Indian Society for Probability and Statistics(ISPS), she remains dedicated to advancing teaching, research, and institutional development.
