Dr. Indrila Deb is an accomplished academician, researcher, and educator currently serving as an Assistant Professor under the Faculty of Commerce and Management at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. Since joining the University on 1 July 2022, she has been actively engaged in teaching, scholarly research, academic mentoring, and institutional development initiatives. Prior to this, she served as a Trainee Teaching Associate at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM C), contributing to academic and pedagogical activities in management education.
Dr. Deb completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and earned her Master of Commerce degree with specialisation in Accounting and Finance from Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration with First Class. She qualified the NTA UGC-NET examination for the position of Assistant Professor in 2019, successfully completed the CS Executive level, and was recently awarded a Ph.D. in Commerce from St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
Her academic interests encompass Accounting, Taxation, Marketing, Corporate Governance, and allied disciplines within Commerce and Management. Recognised for her learner-centric approach, she remains committed to nurturing intellectual growth, analytical thinking, and professional competence among students.
Dr. Deb’s research interests are primarily centred in the field of Behavioural Finance, with particular focus on investor psychology and mutual fund investment behaviour. Her doctoral research on investment biases among mutual fund investors contributes to the growing scholarship on behavioural dimensions of financial decision-making. She has published papers in reputed academic journals, presented research at recognised conferences, and actively participated in Faculty Development Programmes and scholarly workshops. Through her continued engagement in research and academia, Dr. Deb remains committed to advancing meaningful scholarship and fostering an intellectually enriching learning environment.
