Dr. Manali Bhattacharya is an academician, researcher, mentor, and media professional with more than two decades of experience in the fields of Mass Communication, Advertising, Public Relations, Branding, Communication Research and Consumer Behavior. She is currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at and has previously held the position of Head of the Department from 2019 to 2022.
Her academic and professional interests lie in advertising, branding, consumer behavior, media studies, promotional strategies, and communication research. Over the years, she has been actively involved in teaching, mentoring students, guiding academic and industry-oriented projects, and organizing branding and promotional activities. She is known for her interactive teaching methodology and her commitment to integrating industry perspectives with academic learning.
Dr. Bhattacharya has held several important academic and administrative responsibilities at the university level. She has served as Professor-in-Charge of the Mass Communication Department from 2017 to 2019. She served as the Professor-in-Charge of the University Students’ Board (2022–2024). She has also been Convener of the syllabus committees for both BA and MA Mass Communication program, Convener of the University Magazine Committee (2017–2021), Chairperson of the Board of Studies till 2022, Member of the Doctoral Research Committee (DRC) for PhD in Mass Communication, and Convener of the University Convocation Committee (2023–2026). She is also the Professor-in-Charge of the Center for Global network and initiatives and Member Secretary of the Academic Council.
Her contributions to academia include research articles, edited books, and scholarly publications in the areas of media, branding, and communication studies. Dr. Bhattacharya aspires to contribute significantly to the world of academics, industry, and research through her work in advertising, branding, consumer behavior, and promotional consulting.
