Dr. Manik Chakraborty is an academician, researcher, and author presently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Commerce and Management at St. Xavier's University Kolkata. A meritorious scholar with an exceptional academic record, he secured the first position in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education in 2011. He obtained his M.Com. degree with First Division from University of Calcutta, securing the 8th rank in the university, and completed his B.Com. (Hons.) from Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration. He earned his Ph.D. from Tripura University with specialization in Accounting and Finance.
Dr. Chakraborty possesses a profound inclination towards academic research and contemporary financial discourses. His scholarly contributions include presentations at numerous national and international seminars and conferences, along with publications in UGC CARE-listed and peer-reviewed journals of repute. He has also authored and contributed to several textbooks and reference books for competitive examinations and higher education learners. Prior to joining St. Xavier’s University Kolkata, he served at esteemed institutions including Tripura University and Holy Cross College. He is also a Life Member of the Indian Accounting Association.
His principal research domains include Financial Management, Digital Accounting Systems, Corporate Capital Structure, Corporate Sustainability, Corporate Governance, ESG Practices, Corporate Performance Measurement, and Financial Innovations in Emerging Economies. Through his pedagogical commitment, research endeavours, and literary contributions, Dr. Chakraborty continues to enrich the disciplines of commerce, accounting, and finance.
