Dr Manish Prasad is at present serving as Assistant Professor, Department of English, Faculty of Arts and Social Studies, St. Xavier’s University Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He has done his PhD from the Department of English, Kazi Nazrul University, West Bengal, India. Apart from teaching courses in British and Indian literature, he is a practicing translator who works in Hindi and English. He has been trained at the National Translation Mission, Mysuru, India, and was also selected for the summer school at the British Centre for Literary Translation, London in 2017. In his PhD thesis, he has tried to study Postcolonial translation from a new perspective. He has done pioneer work in Translation Studies by studying Harivansh Rai Bachchan as a Postcolonial translator in the Indian context.
