I graduated with a B.A. (Honours) in English from St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata in 2012 and then moved on to Jadavpur University where I completed my M.A. in English and PhD. I was awarded the UGC-NET JRF in 2014 and I joined the Department of English, Jadavpur University as a PhD scholar in 2015, working in the field of South Asian historiography and the oral histories of women in the context of the Bangladesh Liberation War (1971) for my doctoral research. My PhD, titled, “Remembering 1971: Women’s Narratives of the Bangladesh Liberation War and Post-War Reflections” was completed in 2022. My areas of specialization include Women's Writing, Memory Studies and Feminist Theory. I take an interest in Renaissance Drama, Gender Studies and Postcolonial Literature, which I teach extensively at the UG and PG level. I have publications with Routledge, Orient BlackSwan, Rowman and Littlefield and I have been a reviewer for Contemporary Voice of Dalit, a Sage journal. I have been teaching at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata since 2018 and I have guided 3 PhD scholars so far. I have served as the Professor-in-Charge of the Women and Gender Development Cell from 2019-2023. I currently serve as the Head of the Department of English.
