Faculty Profile

Dr. Mitra Goswami is an Assistant Professor in Accounting and Finance in the Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Management at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. She is a Gold Medalist in M.Com (Accounting and Finance) from North-Eastern Hill University, a Central University in Shillong, Meghalaya.

A passionate teacher with over seven and a half years of teaching experience and a dedicated researcher, Dr. Goswami completed her Ph.D. in Finance in 2019 as a full-time research scholar. She is also a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship (NET-JRF) awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Her research primarily focuses on intellectual capital, with particular emphasis on the impact of intellectual capital on corporate performance and investigation of reporting practices of Indian firms.

Dr. Goswami has a keen interest in exploring innovative methodological approaches and has successfully incorporated them into her research. She has authored several research papers published in reputed national and international journals, which have collectively garnered decent number of citations till date. She also serves as a reviewer for the International Journal of Learning and Intellectual Capital (Inderscience Publishers), a Scopus-indexed (Q3) journal.
