Dr. Nabanita Sen is an Assistant Professor of Law at Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. She is a member of the Expert Committee of the University for Environmental Studies and Sustainability. Her teaching career and research interests were advanced at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, as an Academic Fellow. During her engagement with NUJS, apart from teaching, she extended assistance in research to the Criminal Laws Review Committee established by the West Bengal Government, Home and Hill Affairs Department. Before joining WBNUJS, she worked alongside corporates, gaining valuable experience. Previously, she was Lecturer at Pailan College of Management and Technology, Kolkata. She was a Visiting Faculty at Sister Nivedita University, Kolkata. She secured First Class First Rank and awarded Gold Medal from the University in both B.A.LL. B (Hons.) and MBA, holding specialization in Human Resource Management. Given her passion for teaching and research, she completed courses on Advanced Criminal Law from WBNUJS, Kolkata and Cyber Law from ILI, Delhi. Thereafter, she pursued LL.M., followed by doctoral degree in 2025 from Bankura University, West Bengal. She holds experience as a researcher and field investigator in research projects, including an ICSSR-funded Research Programme. Has participated in multiple seminars and conferences with publications in international journals, including Wiley-Blackwell, Sage Publications, Inderscience in the form of book articles to her name, which are indexed in Scopus, Web of Science and peer-reviewed journals. She has experience in chairing various International Conferences too. Served as Reviewer for many international publishers, including Emerald and Sage Publications. Has adjudicated debates and moot court competitions, such as the Herbert Smith Freehills Moot Court. With a career that spanned academia, research and industry exposure, she brings unique multi-disciplinary approach to her teaching and research.
