He has contributed to the body of knowledge in management discipline in the domains of Strategic Management, Knowledge Management and technology management. He has to his credit establishing 4 research centres namely Centre for International trade in technology, Centre for technology policy Centre for innovation & entrepreneur ship and Father Lafont Centre of Excellence in Research and Innovation to act as apex body to navigate and supervise mtiple Centres of Excellence in emerging areas & technology. He is registered expert with European Commission on technology management. Dr Kumar had been Dr K N Modi Chair in Technology Management & Registrar Dr K N Modi University, Jaipur where he also served as acting President(equivalent to Vice Chancellor) for 3 months. Dr Kumar had been Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, St. Xavier's University , Kolkata and member of Research Board and Academic Council. For more than 10 years, Dr Kumar had been Dean/ Director of institutions / Universities of repute. He also served industry in the capacity of corporate HR manager including Aditya Birla Group. Dr Kumar, graduate in Physics and post graduate in Management with specialisation in HRD from XISS holds PhD degree in technology management from HNB Garhwal University (Indian Central University). Dr Kumar has collaborated with Dr Lynn Martin of Manchester University, U. K., Dr Sanjay Sinha of Cambridge University, U. K, Dr Houming Fan of Dalian Maritime Universiry, China in international Cooperation.
