Dr. Ramesh Prasad is an Assistant Professor in Commerce under the Faculty of Commerce and Management at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. He completed his B.Com (Hons.) from Jagannath Kishore (J.K.) College, Purulia, securing First Class First position at the undergraduate level under Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia. He earned his M.Com in Accounting and Finance specialization from Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia. Dr. Prasad has qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), University Grants Commission, New Delhi, as well as the West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WBSET) conducted by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC). He was awarded a Ph.D. in Commerce with a specialization in Finance as a full-time research scholar from Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia.
Apart from his commitment to teaching, Dr. Prasad is deeply passionate about research. He has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals by leading publishers, including Springer Nature, Emerald, and Inderscience. He also serves as a peer reviewer for various national and international journals. His core research interests include SMEs, intellectual capital, corporate finance, and sustainability. In addition, Dr. Prasad actively engages in research on contemporary finance-related issues. He has presented research papers at several prestigious academic forums, including the IIM Bodh Gaya, National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar), IIT Roorkee, and other national and international platforms. Dr. Prasad has also participated in more than 20 Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) and research methodology workshops conducted by reputed institutions, including NIT Patna, the Central University of Haryana (ICSSR-sponsored FDP), and the University of Delhi.
