Faculty Profile

Dr. Ranjeeta Mukherjee is an academician, legal scholar, and administrator with extensive experience in legal education, research, and institutional leadership. She is presently serving as Associate Professor and Dean of Xavier Law School at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from Patna University and qualified the UGC-NET . With more than fourteen years of teaching experience, she has been associated with several reputed institutions, including Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi and Amity University Kolkata. Her areas of academic interest include constitutional law, human rights, gender justice, reproductive rights, tribal rights, and socio-legal studies. Dr. Mukherjee has made significant scholarly contributions through numerous research publications, edited volumes, and book chapters published in reputed peer-reviewed and UGC Care-listed journals. She is also the author of works focusing on women’s rights, legal reforms, and contemporary socio-legal challenges in India. Apart from her academic and research engagements, Dr. Mukherjee has actively contributed to legal awareness initiatives, faculty development programmes, legal aid activities, and institutional governance. She has delivered lectures and keynote addresses at national and international forums and has served in various editorial, moderation, and academic review capacities. Her professional commitment reflects a strong dedication to academic excellence, interdisciplinary research, and the advancement of legal education in India.
