Faculty Profile

Dr. Sayan Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, with over 12 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He holds Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur,  M.Tech. from the University of Calcutta, MCA from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), and the DOEACC 'A' Level certification.

His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, and Quantum Computing. He served as a Research Fellow in the MeitY-funded Digital India Corporation project, "Remote Health: A Framework for Healthcare Services using Mobile and Sensor-Cloud Technologies," contributing to the development of innovative digital healthcare solutions.

Dr. Das has authored numerous research papers in reputed journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. Prior to joining St. Xavier's University, he held academic positions at the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), RKVM Sarada Ma Girls' College, Techno India Salt Lake, and Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. He also gained industry experience as Assistant Coordinator (Projects) at Filter Manufacturing Industries Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata.

In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Das actively contributes to academia as a reviewer, paper setter, and administrator. He is a member of the Computer Society of India (CSI) and is committed to advancing education and research through innovative technologies that address real-world challenges in intelligent computing and digital healthcare.
