Faculty Profile

Dr. Shyamala D. secured first rank in B.A.(Law) at Mangalore University and was the topper of the Constitutional Law branch in her LL.M. from the University of Mysore. Her Ph.D. thesis was on the topic, “Role of ADR in the Resolution of Domain Name-Trademark Conflicts”. She started her teaching career in 2006 at SDM Law College, Mangalore. After shifting to Kolkata, she worked as a Research Associate at The WB National University of Juridical Sciences for a major research project sponsored by the Ministry of Justice (GoI), and taught at Amity Law School and Xavier Law School. She also worked as a Legal Associate at Arty Legal Processing Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. At present, she is serving as an Assistant Professor of Law at Xavier Law School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. She has published papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented papers in national and international conferences. Her areas of interest include Constitutional Law, Media Law, ADR, Medicine and Public Health Laws and Trademark Law.
