Dr. Souren Koner is an accomplished academician and marketing professional with over 21 years of experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and industry. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Marketing at Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Burdwan in 2019, where his research focused on customer satisfaction and service quality and their impact on the sales performance of cosmetic retail outlets in the Burdwan district. He also holds an MBA with specialization in Marketing Management from the same university.
Dr. Koner has made significant contributions to academic research, with eighteen published research articles and ten book chapters to his credit. Among these, seventeen articles are indexed in SCOPUS, three are listed in UGC Care journals, and one is indexed in the Web of Science journal. His academic interests include marketing management, consumer behaviour, retail management, and service quality.
Before joining academia, he gained valuable industry exposure while working as a Professional Sales Representative at Ind Swift Ltd. and as a Sales Representative at Arrow Network. He has taught at reputed institutions such as Royal Global University, Guwahati, Amity University Chhattisgarh, International Institute of Business Studies (IIBS), ICFAI National College, and Bengal Institute of Science & Technology.
Dr. Koner has actively participated in faculty development programmes, workshops, and conferences. His dedication to academic excellence has earned him several recognitions, including awards for Best Internship Coordinator and Best Faculty Guide for the Summer Internship Programme.
