Faculty Profile

Dr. Sovik Mukherjee (CBSE-UGC NET qualified) is currently an Assistant Professor in Economics at Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, with over 10 years of teaching and research experience. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics from Jadavpur University and was featured in the “Top 30 Most Influential Young Economists – 2022” list published by the Institute of Certified Chartered Economists (ICCE). He has authored over 60 publications in reputed national and international peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes and is also a Certified Peer Reviewer from the Elsevier Researcher Academy. He currently serves as the Managing Editor of Arthabeekshan and the Forum for Global Studies, New Delhi, India. He is also one of the Editors of the International Journal of Sustainable Business, Management, and Accounting and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several international journals. Dr. Mukherjee has presented research papers at conferences and workshops organized by leading institutions including Cornell Law School, IIT Kharagpur, IIM Calcutta, ISI Delhi, Delhi School of Economics, IIM Indore, and the Competition Commission of India, as well as international academic bodies such as RIDGE, NISPAcee, JEPA, and SANEM. He is an active member of several national and international professional organizations, including The Econometric Society, Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL), Rethinking Economics International (REI), the Young Global Economists Society, and a life member of The Applied Economics Society (Executive Committee Member), Indian Health Economics and Policy Association, The Indian Econometric Society, Indian Economic Association, and the Bengal Economic Association, among others. He also contributes regularly to public discourse through articles and opinion pieces in newspapers, magazines, and digital platforms on contemporary economic issues. Additionally, he conducts Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), workshops, and training sessions on research methodology, academic writing, data analysis, publication ethics, and AI applications in teaching and research.
