Dr. Stephen. G is presently working as an Assistant Librarian at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. Earlier, he served as the Assistant Librarian at NIELIT (National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh). He has completed a PhD dissertation entitled, “Utilization of ICT-based library Resources and Services in Engineering College Libraries of Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram Districts” at the Department of Library and Information Science, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, India. His areas of interest include ICT, Information Literacy, Digital Library, User studies, E-learning, etc. Besides a doctorate degree, he also holds an MBA, an MLIS, and an M.Phil.
He has qualified for the UGC NET and the Tamil Nadu SET examinations for the post of Assistant Professor in Library and Information Science. Furthermore, he has completed several technical education courses, including CCA, D. Com, PGDCPA, NIELIT O-Level IT Software Course, and CCC.
He has published about 51 research articles in national and international journals and has presented more than 40 papers at various seminars and conferences. Furthermore, he has also published 19 chapters in various Library and Information Science books. He is a life member of various Library and Information Science professional Associations, viz., Indian Library Association (ILA-Delhi), Bombay Science Library Association (BOSLA-Bombay), IATLIS (Punjab), ALA (Academic Library Association- Trichy), KLA (Kerala Library Association), Assam Library Association, Ranganathan Society for Social Welfare and Library Development (RSSWLD), Madras Library Association, LIS Academy, Bengaluru and SALIS- Chennai.
