Biographical Sketch

I have completed my M.A and PhD from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan. I have also done a Post Graduate Diploma course in Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics from School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University, Kolkata. I was awarded a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the year 2013 by Osmania University Centre for International Programmes (OUCIP), Hyderabad and another Junior UPE fellowship from School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University. I have worked as a researcher in SCTR, JU for 2.4 years and had an exposure to some rare cultural material during the course of my UPE-II project. I have also taught in various colleges in various capacities and my teaching experience is cumulatively close to 15 years. 

Qualifications

  • M.A. and Ph.D. from Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan
  • PG Diploma in Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics from Jadavpur University.

Areas of Specialisation

My areas of research interest mostly include Canadian Literature, New Literatures, Diaspora Studies, Migration Studies, Partition Literature and Digital Humanities. I have also presented papers in various national and international seminars and conferences. I have published chapters/articles in various edited volumes and peer-reviewed journals.

Teaching Experience

  • Taught in the capacity of Guest Faculty and Assistant Professor in various colleges, cumulatively acquiring around six years of teaching experience, some of which are listed below: • Taught as a guest lecturer in Michael Madhusudhan Memorial College, Durgapur (from 04.09.10- 05.09.11) and Durgapur Women’s College (from 04.09.10-31.03.11). • Worked as a guest lecturer in THK Jain College, Cossipore, Kolkata (affiliated to University of Calcutta) from 01.09.16 to 12.04.17. • Worked as an Assistant Professor in Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata from 23.07.2018 to 27.12.2019.
