Biographical Sketch: Dr. Sharmila Kayal

Dr. Sharmila Kayal is a distinguished academic professional and researcher specializing in the field of Media and Mass Communication. She serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, following a notable ten-year tenure at the School of Media and Communication, Adamas University. Driven by a deep commitment to media studies, her core research spans health communication, audience research, digital marketing, and gender studies.

D Prior to her full-time dedication to academics, she gathered valuable industry exposure working as a professional media practitioner, including roles as a reporter and trainee journalist for The Sambad, a special correspondent for ETV, and a programme executive at Omm TV.
