Dr. Srenwantee Bhattacharjee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at St. Xavier's University, Kolkata (SXUK). An alumnus of Miranda House, University of Delhi, she holds an M.A. and an M.Phil. in Social Work from the University of Delhi, and a Ph.D. from Visva-Bharati, specializing in the sexual health and marginalization of transgender communities.
At St. Xavier’s University Kolkata, Dr. Bhattacharjee actively balances her teaching and research with vital institutional roles. She has served as the Professor-in-charge of the Xavier’s University Cultural Arts Society (XUCAS), been a part of the University Magazine Editorial Team and a member of the Research Development Cell. Her teaching and research expertise spans gender and sexuality, child rights, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability. A recipient of the prestigious UGC Junior Research Fellowship, she has been widely recognized for her research, winning awards for research papers from the National Association of Professional Social Workers in India (NAPSWI) and the GNSU International Conference. She has published extensively on healthcare disparities, child abuse disclosure, and LGBTQ+ community barriers in India. She has served as Co-Principal Investigator in a funded baseline study on child marriage in West Bengal and has co-authored a policy landscape report on men and boys for TALASH Society.
