Faculty Profile

A deep concern for the underprivileged was something that my brother and I inherited from our parents. While our parents extended help to the needy as they could, I joined the Bachelor of Social Work (Hons) programme at the Department of Social Work, Visva Bharati to learn how to help people to help themselves. My teachers at the Department of Social Work, Visva Bharati and the Department of Social Work, University of Delhi, shaped my understanding of society, social problems and human challenges .I joined teaching to remain connected to both academics and grassroot soc.al realities.I have worked as the Founder Head/ Teacher in charge of two Social Work institutions ( Department of Social Work, Amik Institute of  Management Sciences and Technology, Durgapur and Department of Social Work, SXUK).I wish to guide two more institutions in similar capacity.

My happiness lies in the fact that my students are working across the country for the well being of the less fortunate.
