Xavier Law School (XLS), St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata (SXUK) organized a special lecture on “Industrial Approaches to Intellectual Property Rights” on April 27, 2026 at the university campus in observance of the World Intellectual Property Day 2026. 

The programme aimed to promote awareness and understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their growing significance in industrial and commercial practice.

Mr. Saswata Dhar, an accomplished in-house corporate legal professional was the resource person. He discussed practical applications of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets in corporate settings, while also addressing issues relating to IP management, enforcement, licensing, and business strategy.

Participants appreciated the practical insights and industry-oriented perspective shared during the session.
