Biographical Sketch

Dr. Amrita Choudhary is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Arts and Social Studies at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. She completed her post-graduation in Psychology from Banaras Hindu University in 2017. She subsequently earned her PhD in Psychology from the same institution under the UGC-NET JRF scheme and was awarded the doctoral degree in November 2022.

Before joining St. Xavier’s University in 2023, Dr. Choudhary worked as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Amity University Kolkata for 14 months. During this period, she taught psychology courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and actively contributed to academic and research activities.

Her areas of academic interest include clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, and meta-analysis. She has authored and co-authored several research papers and book chapters published in national and international journals, including UGC-listed and Scopus-indexed publications. Her research work reflects a commitment to understanding psychological processes through empirical investigation and evidence-based approaches.

Dr. Choudhary is dedicated to fostering critical thinking, academic curiosity, and research orientation among students. She believes that knowledge is a deeply personal and enduring asset that empowers individuals throughout their lives and cannot be taken away by external circumstances. Through her teaching and research, she continues to contribute meaningfully to the discipline of psychology and higher education.
