Dr. Priyanka Talukdar is an Assistant Professor of Statistics at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, where she has been serving since July 2022. With more than eight years of experience spanning higher education, research, and academic mentorship, she has established herself as a dynamic educator and researcher committed to advancing data-driven inquiry and interdisciplinary statistical applications.
She has completed her Master’s degree in Statistics with specialization in Actuarial Science from Gauhati University. She graduated with Major in Statistics from Assam (Central) University, earning the prestigious First Class First position.
Dr. Talukdar has taught a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Linear Models, Regression Analysis, Multivariate Analysis, Actuarial Statistics, Time Series Analysis, Business Mathematics and Statistics, Statistical Quality Management, R Programming, SPSS, and Spreadsheet Analytics. Recognized for her engaging and concept-driven pedagogy, she is deeply invested in cultivating analytical thinking, research aptitude, and quantitative reasoning among students. Her research contributions span both theoretical and applied domains of statistics, with publications in reputed national and international journals. She has presented her papers and invited talks at leading national and international conferences including Maths Sports Asia 2024 at IIM Udaipur, International Conference on Emerging Trends of Statistical Sciences in AI and Its Applications (ETSSAA) at Banasthali Vidyapith, Math Sport Asia 2018 at XLRI Jamshedpur. Dr. Talukdar has successfully completed the HOD’s Training Programme on Official Statistics organised by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI) at NSSTA, New Delhi. She actively participates in scholarly networks and professional communities and is a Life Member of the Calcutta Statistical Association, the Indian Association for Productivity, Quality and Reliability, and the Society of Statistics, Computer and Applications.
