Dr. Shuvendu Chakraborty is an Indian academic, researcher, and educator known for his contributions to mathematics, statistics, cosmology, and data analytics. He is associated with St. Xavier's University, Kolkata, where he has served as an Associate Professor and has also held important administrative responsibilities, including Director of IQAC.
He completed his B.Sc. from the University of Calcutta, followed by an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and a Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. He also earned an MBA from Sikkim Manipal University.
Dr. Chakraborty has extensive teaching and research experience in mathematics, statistics, astrophysics, and multivariate data analysis. His research interests include cosmology, dark energy models, astrostatistics, and operations research. He has authored several research papers published in reputed international journals and has written the book Theory Behind the Present Accelerating Universe.
Apart from academics, he has contributed to institutional development through examination management, accreditation activities, and academic administration in different engineering and management institutes in West Bengal. His work combines theoretical scientific research with practical applications in analytics and higher education.
